An Immersion Circulator (most commonly known as a “Sous Vide Cooker”) is being created within OSHE for 10-gallon, 24-hour cooks and plans to reach temperatures within the range of 100°F-200°F. The product consists of the following: an electrical circuit and ESP32 (housed in a 3D-printed box), a heating element (which includes a thermocouple, a washing machine heating element, and a pump), and the 10-gallon cooler. Additionally, this group plans to have the controls connected to an app and accessed via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.

The goal of this project is to provide an affordable and customizable open-source quality control alternative using BREAD slices. “BREAD Vision” utilizes vision software in conjunction with a BREAD system to judge physical characteristics and analyze the material characteristics of an object, and then return a pass or fail. The device is designed to be an open-source, affordable option for quality control applications. The device utilizes vision software to judge physical characteristics and analyze the material characteristics of an object, and then return a pass or fail. Through the use of downloadable, customizable libraries such as silhouette detection and color detection, end users will be able to download all applicable aspects they wish to test in a product.
